About Puerto Pollensa
Puerto Pollensa, or Port de Pollença, can be found in the north-east corner of Mallorca.  The area, which is far quieter than the southern resorts, faces the wonderful Bay of Pollensa looking across to the old town of Alcudia and the  mountains beyond.

There is a long stretch of family friendly beach just a short distance from the Bon Dia where all types of water sports are available.  Further towards the port area a number of boat trips are available and there are quite frequent local bus services

In the town centre there are a number of shops, boutiques, hotels and the famous pedestrianised area known as the “Pine Walk”.  The weekly market in the main square is well worth a visit and is equally popular among local residents as tourists.

Getting Around
During the main part of the season there is a frequent bus service - Linea 2; Pollensa - Alcudia/C'an Picafort - along the main sea front road.  The service is quite reliable and very inexpensive but on certain days (like market days in Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia) the buses can get busy.  It is possible to catch bus and connecting train services around the island - the best thing is to familiarise yourself with the bus timetables and plan your journey beforehand.

The local bus timetable can be downloaded here.  For other parts of the island -
 tib.caib.es

Taxis are reasonably priced and are a viable alternative to the bus services for larger groups.

Package Holiday or Do It Yourself
Many visitors to the are still use the traditional package holiday but an increasing number of people are finding it more convenient, and often cheaper, to book all the different parts of the holiday for themselves.
One of the UK companies helping with the DIY booking of flights, transfers and hotels is AlphaRooms - here’s a link CLICK HERE to see for yourself how their website operates. Just select your dates, the home and destination airports and then look at the hotels. (One good thing about DIY is that you aren’t limited to multiples of 7 or 14 days - you can have the length of holiday you want. In fact there’s nothing to stop you coming from one UK airport and going back to another or even changing your accommodation part way through your holiday).

All of the accommodation used by the package companies is also available for direct booking - with a good selection close to the Bon Dia.  We’ve given you a selection below - again with a link where you can take a look at what the accommodation offers and how much they cost.
